Cereal, Ear Infections, and Birthdays

This was a very busy week for Brandon. We went to the doctor for his 4 month check-up. He weighed in at 13lbs 7oz and was 25 1/4 inches long (He has grown 6 inches!). We discussed with our doctor starting Brandon on solids. We decided that he would start on rice cereal and work his way up to vegetables and fruit. It is mainly to teach him how to swallow solid food. Here are a few pictures of Brandon trying a new diet.

As if cereal was not exciting enough, we began another new adventure before leaving the doctor's office. We had noticed that Brandon was pulling on his left ear a lot and was pretty fussy the few days before his appointment. I let the doctor know about it. He checked Brandon's left ear, and it was fine. Whew, well not yet! Then, our doctor check the right ear - yep, infected!!! He was pulling on the wrong ear. So, our doctor, not wanting to put us through severe torture, decided to hold off on shots for a little while and gave Brandon an antibiotic. Little did he know that the antibiotic was almost as bad. Poor little man had to take that nasty sticky goo (it looked like glue) for 10 days!

Strapped down was the best way to give Brandon the medicine! Doesn't he look thrilled!

Mommy, I don't want it!

This face really hurts my feelings. He was so miserable getting his medicine, but it made him feel so much better.

He is kind of smiling as he spits out most of his goo. Stinker!

More eating now! Naked means easy clean-up.

That weekend fell right between Grammy's birthday and mine and Cynthia's birthday! We went to Temple for the weekend and had a great time celebrating and visiting!

Grammy loves to slick Brandon's curly hair down. It is so funny! Look how incredibly long it is.

Blowing out birthday candles! I turned 27 and Cynthia turned 24!

Cynthia and Margaret show their modified way of eating cupcakes. You rip the bottom off and put it on top, thus you won't get icing on your nose when you eat it. Smart!
